Which-Twitter-Accounts-Should-Oklahoma-CPAs-FollowA growing number of CPAs and accountants are turning to Twitter to market, reach potential clients, and stay current with news and trends in the field. Do you know which Twitter accounts would be most beneficial for Oklahoma CPAs, and why?

Tweet Success

Twitter began in 2006 and grew to become the second largest social network behind Facebook though it recently fell to third place. As early as 2009, the Journal of Accountancy was discussing the power of Twitter for CPAs.

In the article, the Oklahoma Society of CPAs stated they used Twitter to gain publicity, discover new vendors, and to develop and maintain relationships with members. They also said it was an important tool for recruiting students and associate members.

Let’s look at Twitter accounts Oklahoma CPAs should follow and why:

Benefits of Joining the Social Scene

These are just a few of the thousands of Twitter accounts that CPAs can follow. You do not need a Twitter account to get tweets, either, though it is easier to follow individuals if you do.

You can go to Twitter.com and search to find industry-relevant people, companies, and organizations and read the tweets there, or you can subscribe via RSS for Twitter accounts that are public.

You can follow Twitter accounts on your smartphone as well. Get references to articles that your peers have already read and recommend, market yourself, keep up-to-date with the latest news, and make new connections.
