Over 2 million blogs are posted every day, and there are hundreds of blogs that are aimed specifically at accountants.
It takes time to wade through blog sites and posts trying to find something relevant, useful, informative, and newsworthy for CPAs. Here are seven CPA blogs that Oklahoma CPAs and accountants will find worthwhile:
- Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA) – The OSCPA is the only statewide Oklahoma organization for CPAs, and their website is full of information that is of value to Oklahoma accountants. This link goes to the homepage, and while the site does not have a blog itself, it does have a news section that contains links to blogs on other sites that are of interest to CPAs.
- American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) – This is the official blog of the AICPA, and it covers a variety of topics affecting the accounting profession. With 23 different categories, you will be sure to find topics in which you are interested. A number of specialists in the AICPA, as well as guest bloggers, regularly provide content.
- The CPA Desk – Though Texas-based, they offer a wide variety of CPA and accounting related topics that Oklahoma CPAs would find of interest. Many of the blog posts on this site contain accompanying videos for a change of pace from reading.
- CPA Magazine – The magazine does have a blog section, however, like the OSCPA, it is the homepage where links to breaking news and up-to-date information can be found.
- Rita Keller – Though not a CPA, Keller has worked in CPA firm management for over 30 years and was named in 2014 as one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting by CPA Practice Advisor. Her blog is aimed at providing information to help manage CPA firms.
- The Accounting Onion – Blogs by Tom Selling D., CPA that primarily discuss topics relating to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). As the subheading for the website states, Selling’s intent is “Peeling away financial reporting issues one layer at a time”.
- Emsco Solutions – Check out the other Oklahoma CPA articles on our site. You’ll find information on everything from the best LinkedIn groups for CPAs to pricing for CPA services in Oklahoma in the blog.
Stay Current with Blogs
Business professionals read blogs for many reasons such as analysis and opinion on topics and to stay on top of trends. If you have not already, you should join the ranks of blog readers to get these benefits as well.
